It’s not about my style.
it’s about my client’s dreams.

Harry Heissmann Inc. was founded in New York City in 2009.

Originally from Germany, Harry earned his Master’s in Interior Design from the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich before moving to the United States in 1995. In New York, he built his craft working with some of the city’s most respected design firms, spending nine formative years in the office of Albert Hadley who fondly called Harry’s desk “the magic shop” before launching his own studio.

Harry’s approach is best described as “client-centric,” effortlessly moving between traditional, contemporary, and everything in between. For him, design is all about the client: the place, the comfort, the practicality. As he puts it, he’d happily furnish a matchbox if that’s what the client wanted – no project is too big or too small.

Known for his warmth and humor, Harry delivers highly personal interiors that reflect each client’s unique needs and personality.

His work has been featured in numerous publications, and he actively supports charities and show houses including Kips Bay (2011, 2016, Palm Beach 2021), Holiday House, the Brooklyn Heights Designer Showhouse and Lenox Hill Neighborhood House.

He’s also a member of the faculty at the New York School of Interior Design.
